Fans Invited For Pre-Game Activities On September 26th

ALBANY, NYThe Albany River Rats announced today that the club will host its first ever “Rats Fest” prior to their American Hockey League exhibition match-up with the Adirondack Phantoms at the Times Union Center on September 26, 2009. Admission to “Rats Fest” will be free of charge and includes a ticket to Albany’s pre-season game scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

“Rats Fest” will kick-off at 2:00 p.m. with live music, interactive inflatables, on-ice games, appearances by team mascots “Rowdy” The Rat and “Rude-e” Rat, the showing of a classic River Rats game and the first area appearance of the all-new Café Hollywood Ice Mice.

Albany will also reveal the franchise’s first ever “third jersey” during the event, and those in attendance will have the first chance to preview “phase two” of the River Rats Hall of Fame, which will include the announcement of the first class to be inducted. Albany will also provide area hockey fans with a great select-a-seat option as the team prepares to open its 17th AHL campaign on October 3, 2009 in a 7:00 p.m. contest against the Manchester Monarchs at the Times Union Center.

Rats Fest is free to the general public and those that previously purchased tickets to the pre-season contest should contact the Albany River Rats front office directly at (518) 487-2244.
